My Personal Review On Chicco Cortina Keyfit 30 Travel system

Meets all our needs + elegant and easy to use My husband and I had the hardest time choosing a stroller / car seat combo. This was our first baby, so I had no idea what qualities would be important to us. Safety is obvious, and the price was, of course, a factor, but what else? Light? Easy to install and remove? Comfort for us and baby? What was most important and "cons" to be given more credibility? We went to many shops and tried all the models, then we would go home and read the reviews from Amazon, and we would have liked to negative comments that make us doubt our decision, so start your search again. It seemed that nobody liked her stroller / car seat.

I'm sure some of you are having the same problem, so for those of you hung as if on the negative comments, I would give a different perspective on some of the other reviews. The fact that there is a "with" not mean to be a dealbreaker - these things are living! There is no perfect item out there - the Chicco is as close to perfection as we thought we could get - we love it, and we bought back.

THE OUTLOOK:

1. This is a GREAT car for the price range. It is not the cheapest, but not nearly the most expensive. We bought a Graco first and did not like - the car seat in the locks much easier on the base and the car, and feels much more robust, softer and better made than the Graco. 2. It moves a lot - inside and outside. Turns with ease, smooth, and the handle is comfortable. 3. It is easy to clean, and fabric choices are stylish. 4. The stroller is very easy to expand and collapse, and the car seat could not be easier to lock into place. 5. It is comfortable for the baby. She falls asleep and stay asleep in her often.

NOW TO ADDRESS SOME PROBLEMS OF COURSE:

1. Yes, the fabric is hot (some of the styles of Chicco, seem even hotter than others, going to see in first person), but so are almost all car seat fabrics (and fabrics swing and high chair .) This makes them easy to clean). We bought the "Cubes" and are happy with this fabric and pattern. It is summer in Texas and the baby up a sweat on the back. Not appear to bother him at all.

2. We have not had any problems with the brakes straps too tight or too loose, not work, or squeaking wheels. Our baby has been in the 75-90 percentile for height and weight from 2 months, and no trouble adapting. And I can not imagine how anyone could have problems locking in the car seat unless it broke. Literally tried all the models at Babies R Us and Buy Buy Baby, and this was the easiest to lock in

3. Yes, it is heavier than other models. The seat feels heavier than the stroller. I consider myself a coward and void, and I could handle it well. I can use a carrier of some kind instead of wearing seat itself when possible. No big deal.

4. By using the seat with the car, unless you have a diaper bag very close, it will be difficult to achieve under the seat, and not be able to fit some shopping items below. Again, no big deal - using a hook mom or carry the bag on his shoulder. You do not need tons of heavy equipment in his bag when the babies are so young. Always use a shopping basket - it's pretty easy to maneuver the stroller with one hand, and never felt comfortable shopping list items in the stroller. It felt like people always look at us thinking they were stealing. (Sometimes it is found specifically for that).

5. The holder of adults drink too shallow. If a pothole, your drink will probably be extended. However, if you're in the mall, etc. There are not many potholes, and if you are outside, you can attach a water bottle to a hook mom.

Disclaimer: We've had this for 5 months, is being carried out to perfection so far. We live in the suburbs, so I use it for shopping, but also takes a curb pretty hard about 1 / 2 to 1 mile each day. We also have large vehicles, so no trouble placing the stroller. Another warning, either one of us does the grocery shopping, while the other keeps the baby, or that both are Yuno pushes the car and the other pushing the stroller, so if you have to do lots of shopping alone and with the baby, there may be a better product for you from the car seat is as much part of a shopping basket and the basket is difficult to access.

Baby Bottles are Baby Bottles – or are They?

The variety of baby bottles on the market can be totally confusing to the new parent. It seems that each style of bottle is supposed to be the very best for your baby, and after all, you want to do what is best for your baby. Of course, but saying that the type of baby bottle you choose indicates what type of parent you are is simply ridiculous.

To clear up some of the confusion, a group of mothers were asked what baby bottles they preferred to use.  While some liked the baby bottles with the drop-in liners, most seemed to prefer the type of bottles with some type of venting system.  As with anything, there are advantages and disadvantages or pros and cons to both types of bottles.

The voice of experience says that while the drop-in liner bottles help eliminate the formation of gas in the tummy, the convenience of the liners is another story. As one mother said, “The liners are so handy since it eliminates the need for scrubbing bottles.”  However, from the opposite corner, another mother says, “Bottles with liners make it too easy for exhausted parents to skip the all-important sanitizing step.”

There are basically three different types of baby bottles with a venting system: the Ventaire, the Avent and Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow. While each system is a little different, they are all more complicated than regular baby bottles or even the liner type.

Here are some testimonies about both the advantages and disadvantages of the various types of vented baby bottles:

Ventaire by Playtex:

“The Ventaire is great. The bottom unscrews and a pliable diaphragm goes in place allowing air to move out of the bottle and not into the baby's belly.  They have an angled neck to allow for a more natural drinking position and they have holes at the bottom to allow for the air to leave the bottle instead of it being ingested by the baby. It makes feeding easier on the ear canal, and the tilted shaped bottles allows you to hold the baby in a more upright position.

While the Ventaire bottles do have more "parts" than some more traditional bottles, all of the parts are large enough to be washed in the dishwasher and don’t require a special brush.  There is the nipple, top ring that holds the nipple in place, bottle, gas eliminator filter and bottom ring to hold it in place. I found if I assembled them after washin them (instead of when I had a hungry baby) it was much easier.

Avent Bottles by Phillips

Avent Bottles are the best bet, particularly for breastfeeding moms who need to use bottles. This bottle has a unique air flow system that has been proven to help prevent gas pain associated with bottle feeding. These bottles also have a separate adaptor kit available allowing you to attach the bottle directly to a breast pump. Comes with a variety of nipple sizes based on age, A good bottle can help prevent stomach upset and other problems associated with bottles.

Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow

The best baby bottle I ever used was a Dr. Browns bottle. It reduces colic, gas, and spit up. There are no liners, but there is a piece you need to insert in the bottle. That piece of the bottle is hard to get clean, but a cleaning tool is provided with a bottle purchase.

Again it seems that all these bottles promise to reduce gas and its associated discomfort. So it seems the only difference is the number of pieces needed to assemble each bottle and the degree of difficulty in cleaning and sterilizing.  The final result is that baby bottles are baby bottles…or are they? You decide.

Planning a Baby Shower - What to Include

Baby showers are enjoyable gatherings usually consisting of 4 main activities : socializing, eating, playing games and the best one of all, opening all those baby gifts! Planning a baby shower is the first step.

Lasting about two to 3 hours, it's usually a good idea for the host to outline a schedule of activities beforehand so the speed of the party remains steady.

Planning the Baby Shower Schedule: The start of the baby shower is a good time for socialization.

Cuisine is always expected at a baby shower and it need not be elaborate. Finger foods are simplest and guests can eat throughout the entire length of the shower, with a special time, often towards the end, devoted to eating the cake.

Perhaps the most popular activity in most baby showers is the game time. Baby shower games are fun and there's no end to the game options, either. Practically any game can be remodeled to make it applicable for a baby shower.

If the guests are a fun group, plan on playing several different baby games. Just be certain to decide on the games about three weeks before the shower so you know what games that may be played as the host will have to make certain she has plenty of game pieces and obligatory supplies. And she'll need a prize to award the game winners, too!

Guessing the circumference of the expectant mother's belly is a conventional game that's's played at many baby showers.

IShould games not appear acceptable for the group, for whatever reason, plan a group project instead.

Some project concepts include scrapbooking, covering, making a video documentary, or making something similar to a hand-painted floor mat or wall hanging the expectant mother can make use of in her home.

If you are inviting men, plan the baby shower as more of get-together, maybe an outdoors BBQ. The guys can cook the food and assemble the baby gifts as they're opened as the girls chill and have fun!

Keeping the Best for Last: Opening the baby gifts is surely the high point of the baby showers (at least from the mother's viewpoint).

Be certain someone is in charge of writing down an inventory of the baby gifts and the name of the guest who gave each. Save the bows, too so that when it's all over, the honored guest can be topped with a silly bow hat!
